Camping Duguesclin: Your eco-friendly holiday in Bretagne
To communicate our commitments, we provide to our campers, and in particular in each mobile home, a copy of our environmental charter.
Our Environmental Charter: acting together for nature
This document details all our actions for water, energy, and waste management. It also facilitates a visitor experience using sustainable modes of transport and promoting local sourcing.
Concrete actions: water, energy, waste and sustainable mobility

In water management: the main water meters are equipped with pressure reducers, the piping is insulated, and all the taps in our rental mobile home and sanitary block have water-saving devices. We monitor consumption weekly and have the option of taking daily readings.

Regarding waste management: in partnership with the Breton Federation of Campsites, we have developed a set of monitoring tools and appropriate signage to raise awareness about recycling and responsible tourism. We have installed a composting area open to all our guests; the compost is eventually used in our flowerbeds and in the shared vegetable garden for campsite residents. We have removed single-use packaging from our bar.

Equipment and business partnerships: we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact in our equipment purchases and to collaborating only with partners who share our values regarding sustainable tourism. For example, we prioritize renovating our mobile homes before replacing them and host our website on a platform powered entirely by renewable energy.

Raising awareness about green tourism and sustainable transportation: our mission is also to guide you towards more responsible holidays. To this end, we provide a directory of nature activities on foot and by bike, encouraging you to discover our environment in a gentle and respectful way. You will also find practical information for easily accessing public transport or renting bicycles during your stay.
In the summer, your children can participate in our bird counting activities or learn about the Sustainable Development Goals through our partnership with Green Key.
A recognized commitment: the "Sustainable Camping Plan" program
The Duguesclin campsite is also involved in the "Sustainable Camping Plan" program of the Breton Federation of Campsites. This support facilitates decision-making, helps develop analytical tools, and identifies potential solutions within the industry to initiate or continue a transition to eco-responsible camping practices that utilize renewable energy.
Thanks to our combined efforts, Camping Duguesclin's energy and water consumption is below the average of other campsites in Brittany participating in the project!
The Green Key certification, guaranteeing our commitment
The Duguesclin campsite has held the Green Key label since 2011. Present on five continents, Green Key is the leading international eco-label for promoting responsible holidays for tourist accommodations and restaurants, both in terms of the number of certified establishments and its long history. A Green Key certified eco-responsible campsite implements an environmental policy and a socially responsible approach.
To maintain its certification, a Green Key campsite must renew its commitment annually and is audited every three years. The evaluation criteria are regularly raised in terms of requirements, allowing for continuous improvement and an increasingly sustainable offering.
More and more of you are choosing responsible holiday options, and you're right. It's only natural for us to get involved in this movement and, even more so, to demonstrate our commitment. Obtaining an environmental label confirms that our approach is genuine and regularly assessed.
Are all labels reliable? ADEME – the French Agency for Ecological Transition – has established a list of certifications it considers reputable and recommends in various sectors, including accommodation. Green Key campsites are among them.
Our campsite is also certified Accueil Vélo (for cyclists) Etape Rando Bretagne (for hikers) and is fully committed to soft mobility.
